Clarity is a choice, it doesn't come to you you go for it. Waiting for the perfect time and for the perfect outcome to come and fall into your lap is nothing but a fantasy.

The lack of writing clear goals is setting yourself to achieve the goals of others who have written down their goals clearly. Most of the time we fail in the realm of thinking and having very good ideas.

Unfortunately, good ideas without intentional action steps with clarity are worthless.

Nobody earns from brilliant ideas, no matter how brilliant they may be.

If you want to make any tangible results on an idea you must act on it by communicating it, building it, implement it and make it real.

If you don't have clear goals because you don't know what you want then, you need to actively sit down and decide what you want.

Let's explore some steps that will kick start you towards clarity;

Setting Clear Goals Sharpen Present Time Decisions

The first step is to have a clear well-written vision. Without a vision, you cannot set your goals because your vision is your road-map to inform your goals.

Maintain a clear list of goals not necessarily because it will be the ultimate where you'd end up but you'll get tremendous certainty in deciding on what to do every day.

This gives you some clear focus because when opportunities which seem rosy present you'll be able to pick which fits into your vision and which is a waste of time.

You'll be able to see the measurable difference the day you establish clear committed goals, even though your first attempts may not be perfect.

Harvest and Apply lessons from the Past

Our life experiences can inform us when we are on our highs and lows of life, take a moment to review those times when you've been one extreme vs the other.

Notice the factors that lead to more clarity and do most of them while the factors which lead to less clarity and do less of them.

It's important to note that your levels of clarity aren't the same all the time some times its very clear and other times its very uncertain.

For example do you feel more clearly when you write down your goals? then do this more frequently to navigate your clear focus.

On the flip side do you feel fuzzier when you hang around some nagging friend who tries hard to impose their goals on you?

I guess on the two pedestals you have the power to choose the right one!

Visualize to Create Clarity

Take a mental trip and sit quietly and imagine how your surroundings would be like, the people around and the circumstances you would like in reality.

When your clear clarity is certain you can strongly sense it with the very cell of your being.

Your thoughts and emotions are all centered and every part of you is on one page.

You can visualize yourself as that astute business person by practising doing this 10-20 minutes per day till it feels normal and natural to you.

Ask For Help From Mentors

Help is available when you need it and it's always wise to ask for help from people who are more experienced, but also bearing in mind it's your responsibility 100% to get your level of clarity.

Use coaches, counselors and good advisors as resources to give you the bigger picture but not giving your power to them.

If you give your power to such mentors, and hope they'll tell you what to do then it will not work. A good mentor will help draw out and validate a path that is right for you but she/he cannot create it for you. It's your responsibility to create!

Commit to Write Your Goals and to review them daily

This is a proven habit of success unfortunately, the habit remains inconsistent to most people. Practice drilling your written goals into your subconscious mind and reviewing them daily.

With time the physical written goals will align with your internal resources and bring the goals to fruition. It may take a while to train your subconscious mind but with continuous repetition of this practice, you will start to notice subtle shifts that bring your goals closer.

Realize that any Goal is better than no Goal

I've realized in my coaching and counselling experiences that most people don't like writing goals, and when asked to do so they really whine! really? Yes, they do.

If you whine about setting goals or you say that you don't know how to write any, you're simply communicating that you want nothing.

If you have a blank page or alternatively, no page at all then it's automatic that you will receive nothing because you have asked for nothing either.

This can sound pretty foolish to have nothing to write!

If goal setting is a new practice don't pressure yourself by writing down a perfect list. Just start by writing the simple items that are appealing to you, such as learning something new or setting out to do something new.

As you habitually get into setting goals and achieving them you will realize better goals will come along your path. Focus on the appealing smaller achievements first and as you get good at achieving these goals you continue expanding your goals in new directions.

In Final Thoughts

Explore and experiment because it's not easy to set clear goals because you don't know what you're getting into. In such a case you can experiment in order to gain clarity into what you are getting into.

You'll enjoy more clarity when you're in motion as opposed to when you're standing still.

Set out your journey of setting goals so that you get a hold of where you desire to be, with a vision to leverage on as a road-map.

If you are reading this article and decide not to engage some action then it will be of no help to you.

It takes a lot of energy and time to write a blog post so take the necessary action that you need to.

If you achieve clarity by doing some written exercises at the comfort of your home then do it.

Likewise, if you can't then leave your comfort zone behind and get out there explore what's out there; won't you!
