When we lack clarity or a plan we lose focus and we get distracted with all sorts of things, from gadgets to unhealthy watching of T.V. and many other unhealthy behaviours such as gossip of the latest trends that do not necessarily matter to our lives.

We all have a powerful asset that is inborn, that is the mind. The mind is so amazingly powerful, it is a liberating discovery; why do l say so? It's when we discover the power of our minds that we get freedom from limiting beliefs, and we experience self-empowerment.

In the current Corona crisis, you have the liberty to choose either, to complain and sulk or you choose to see opportunities with the negative situation. What are you focusing on currently?

Every cloud has a silver lining. What has this season taught you? Some virtues like perseverance, patience and discipline which we all struggle to cultivate are now been cultivated by default. What's the lining in this dark cloud of COVID 19?

It's easy to get distracted at this Corona crisis period if you lack clarity and a plan. Here's a bit of my personal journey in regards on handling the pandemic.

I have spent time in reflecting, writing a book and I've also enrolled for an online course on Life-coaching. That's my personal journey..... I have maximized on time by learning new things. I believe that's positive.

What's yours? I'm learning and adding to my skills set, that will create another stream of income! That's my silver lining in this Corona crisis. What's yours? I will give you some helpful tips to focus on in your everyday life.

  • Have goals: Our mind works like a magnet and it attracts drawing near what the mind focuses on. Have a list of goals and place them in your house, office, living room where you can see them daily and envision the goals coming to reality.

  • Identify where your focus needs to be: This informs you what deserves your time monthly, weekly or on a daily basis. After identifying the task, then you are able to block and dedicate time for that without distraction.

  • Recognise that the world has a lot of distractions: It's important to note we are living in a very noisy world. The world will interrupt us from our social lives to our professional lives, through entertainment, technology and unexpected occurrences like the current Corona crisis.

We must recognise this and take control of our own world and keep the focus.

  • The deception of Multi-tasking: We have been socialized that multi-tasking makes us productive! When we multi-task our focus is diverted to different tasks and we switch back and forth going round circles. This results in making us less productive and it becomes impossible to focus.

  • Practice: Focus is a skill and like any other skill it needs to be developed over time. Practice makes perfect and the more you prioritize by putting the effort, the easier it becomes and you also improve on it.

If focus is prioritized it becomes an ability we can acquire.

The reason that stops you from getting what you want is a lack of focus and giving of justifiable excuses. People who keep focus on what they want prosper.

Note that Corona pandemic is a passing cloud and soon it will end. Let this dark cloud have a silver lining on your life. Visualize past this season and avoid unnecessary distractions won't you?

Let's discuss this further by you leaving a comment .......
